This week's question: how does your reading (or your blogging) fare in the holiday months? Do you read more or less? Do you have to actively make time to read?
This varies from year to year for me. This year I was very busy with work around Thanksgiving last week (you'll notice I did not post much in the early part of last week since we were in Beijing), but after a trip to the Philippines this week is finished I plan to be home in Hong Kong through Christmas and until mid-January, so I should be able to get some good reading and good blogging done. In past years it has been tougher to read and post a lot when we've been on the road for Christmas. Actually, this time of year in Hong Kong can be quite quiet (Chinese New Year is busier), which lends itself to more time in the book nook. Nice!
One of the best Christmas presents someone can give me is a) a good book and b) time and space to curl up and read it. (Hint, hint.) To me, there is something special about reading this time of year. You've got lots of "best books of 2009" lists to scan and make purchases, and then gobble them up. As always, there is never enough time to read, but the holidays provide one such opportunity.
